Who misses Michael Jackson? 6 Replies

Yesterday I read that Michael Jackson died, and I have since been unable to shake the sense that "this is awkward" and that "this is a sad end." At 50? I read on CNN.com today that the coroner had ...

The Descent...and the Ascension! God showing me where it all went wrong.....

The past couple months have been painful, missing His presence and the joy that has been my companion the past three years. The siren call of lust was audible again...and I kept wondering where it all went wrong. I could actually pinpoint the week...but not the event/cause. Until last night, when Father brought to my mind a book that I'd read, half of which I enjoyed immensely and the other half which I rather hated. The half (and this is a popular book, which I'll refrain from publicly condemni… Continue

Agreements Sermon

I looked at this tremendous pile of keys that I have to the doors of this building. I commented the other day how nice it will be in heaven not to have keys. Someone else commented that there may not even be doors in heaven because we will have spirit bodies. It will be a strange and different place. A place of freedom from so many of the things that we have to deal with here. It is nice to dream about the many freedoms that we will have in heaven.

For now on this earth, we have been celebratin… Continue

A living act of worship

Scripture tells us that the heavens declare the glory of God. Science tells us that all living things upon this earth have their origin in stardust. The sun itself, and the earth, were formed from out of a cloud of interstellar dust.

The cosmos is, therefore, the very nursery of li… Continue

A Quart in my Tank

So, we try and build some margin into our “season” at Ransomed Heart. We are very aware of the danger of burn-out in ministry. It seems like the number one occupational hazard for Christians. So common it seems inevitable. But...

Old Friends

I was looking for some reading the other day to feed my soul, to supplement my time in the Scriptures. Browsing the bookshelves in my office, I sort of picked up one book then another, opened it, read a little,...

Quite a Beginning

So, we take to the road tomorrow for the Fathered by God tour. Really excited to be heading out. Except, a blizzard is descending on Colorado, so we are scrambling to get to Denver tonight, in hopes of still catching...

Watching People

I’ll admit to a vivid imagination. It keeps me entertained, humors my friends, endears me to many and is the cause of sporadic troubles. I enjoy “People Watching”*… you know, sitting on a park bench, in a mall or at...

Der Suisse Question

(I am in Switzerland with some friends/Swiss allies teaming together in presenting a Boot Camp. I’m hoping to post several reflections on this experience.) Throughout the Boot Camp men pulled me aside to tell me their varied stories. Each man...

"I hold one...I cry out...I wait..." Yes, that's all we can do sometimes to withstand the lurings of the enemy. "I cling feeling the river wash over me" are such comforting and hopeful words. Blessings for your transparency, David.
